This virtual education series includes live sessions, with access to recorded sessions open for a year, designed to meet the needs of professionals working with individuals and families impacted by substance use and mental health. Parents Recovering from Opioid and Other Use Disorders (PROUD) is a SAMHSA-funded program of DMHAS.
Continuing Education credits are approved. These sessions are designed for physicians, nurses, social workers, quality professionals, risk managers, healthcare executives, and all healthcare professionals working with patients impacted by substance use and mental health.
Webinar Description:
This webinar supports providers in better understanding the impact of trauma, specifically complex trauma, on the patient provider engagement. A brief overview of complex trauma will be provided followed by ways in which trauma reminders can be activated for both patients and providers within services. This understanding will better equip providers in increasing awareness of how trauma presents in their supportive spaces as well as within their own internal experiences. A review of nervous system regulation will also be offered to equip providers with the understanding of how integral nervous system regulation is for both patients and providers. Experiential practice will be offered in order for providers to have tangible tools to integrate in their work.
Presenter: Nancy Grechko, PsyD, Clinical Psychologist and Founder, Grechko Training & Consulting
